Extremis has turned the idea of outdoor seating completely inside out, using a super-robust cover material to make a sleek, weatherproof sofa that always looks great. An ingenious storage pouch in the back of the Walrus hides a foldout blanket and a thick cushion to provide the softness, comfort and touch that feel best in contact with your body. This softness is provided in a matter of seconds: a warm, dry and comfortable place to sit outdoors is instantly available as soon as the sun comes out. Yes, in all seasons! No blankets or comfort cushions pillowcase included.
Iroko:
Iroko is an African species of tropical hardwood. The high quality allows Extremis to make wide table top segments out of one piece of wood. The colour and characteristics of the wood are similar to teak.
Hellwood:
Extremis Hellwood has been treated with unique preservation that gives the fibres greater internal stability and increases their resistance to rotting. It's also resistant to UV rays, rain and acid rain, fluctuating humidity levels, frost, extreme heat, etc. Hellwood belongs in Durability Class I. An attractive side-effect of the process is the wood's dark colouring.
Choose Wisely
Just like other types of wood, Iroko and Hellwood will gradually become rougher and start to turn grey as a consequence of exposure to the sun and rain. Small cracks and crevices can also appear as part of this process. We strongly advise everyone to treat the furniture with our Wood Protector. This 100% natural oil controls the moisture level within the wood, which makes the planks stay stable for longer, and the layer of oil also helps to prevent spilled liquids from being absorbed, so that stains tend to stay superficial. It is best to repeat this treatment at regular intervals.
