Giancarlo Fassina is also an Italian architect and designer; he graduated from Politecnico University in Milan with a degree in Architecture, and is known for his work with light design. Fassina designed many large-scale lighting system for exhibits and buildings across Italy in the 1980s, and has also collaborated with Michele De Lucchi in creating the “Tolomeo” lamp collection. Together, Fassina and De Lucchi received the Compasso d/Oro award for industrial design in 1989.
